Washington Park

Washington Park is one of the most desirable and dignified neighborhoods in the city. It is home of the University of Washington President’s mansion, the Russian Consulate and is filled with tree-lined streets and large older homes with views of Lake Washington. There are lakefront estates, some cottages and two high rise buildings along the waterfront: Washington Park Towers (a condominium) and Park Shore (a popular assisted living residence). The proximity to Madison Park commercial district, downtown Seattle (via Madison Street) and the bridge to Bellevue (520), make this neighborhood very popular and convenient.

The housing was predominantly built between 1900-1939 with 53% of the homes being single family residences. The median housing value is $1,060,000 and the median age is 50 years old. Washington Park is made up of nearly equal households that are families and those that are not. The median income is $96,000.

Besides the public beach and Madison Park (with tennis courts and play structures), the Washington Park Arboretum (200 acres of public gardens) and the Japanese Garden are nearby. The Seattle Tennis Club (private) is located in Washington Park.

Washington Park has great school options with McGilvra Elementary School as the neighborhood public school and The Bush School, Epiphany School and the Valley School for private school options.
